Mission Statement What is it about Freeze Frame (pdf 815 KB)

Freeze Frame provides educational opportunities for children and youth to explore the art of filmmaking through screenings of international film and video and hands-on workshops in a multilingual environment.

Vision Statement What we believe (pdf 692KB)

Freeze Frame strives to be an international leader in providing an enriching cinematic experience through the delivery of diverse and innovative programming that educates, inspires and empowers children and youth.

Background

Freeze Frame showcases international independent films and videos for young audiences and their families. Living in a global society that depends heavily on the images of television and film to learn about our world, Freeze Frame offers a unique opportunity to see the world through different eyes.

While we share many values in Canadian society, we practice many languages and traditions. We believe that it is important that children and teens have an opportunity to see their cultural reality reflected back to them on the big screen in English, French and many other languages.

Mandate

Freeze Frame is a non-profit organization whose mandate is:
To advance education in the media arts for and with children and young people through the organization and production of cultural and educational media projects.

Philosophy

Freeze Frame offers a unique opportunity for everyone to see the world through different eyes. This event, which presents international programming to English and French audiences in Winnipeg and rural Manitoba, recognizes that we live in a world that depends heavily on television and film to learn about others. In that spirit, Freeze Frame presents programming designed to challenge and entertain.
