A scary villain with a missing eye, a brave young boy being scammed by a sly Bishop and an escape involving terrifying adventures - what more could you ask for? Eye of the Eagle is great for anybody with a sense for adventure and especially great for those with a special interest in medieval times.

I really enjoyed the fantasy element to this film. The bottomless swamp and an eagle who listened to people are two examples of such fantasy that just gets the imagination in gear. I don't think I could pick out a favourite scene, but what I did really like was the atmosphere created by the suitable costumes, incredible scenery and realistic effects and props. The acting and action really took me back into the medieval times and every once in a while I would forget all about my modern surroundings and become fully involved in the film.

Overall, I liked this film because I've always been interested in stories that take place in the past. The characters and events may not have been realistic, but they were certainly entertaining. Even though the film is probably geared to people younger than me (I'm 17), I think it's a film that can be enjoyed by anyone with an appreciation for good filming and those with an active imagination.

Film Review by Jamie, Grade 5
Film: The Wrong Trousers
Director: Nick Park

Country: Great Britain

I think the movie The Wrong Trousers was an awesome movie! I liked it because it had great claymation and could tell how Gromit was feeling by his actions and expressions. At the end of the movie it left me feeling satistfied because it had an interesting ending. I could tell Nick Park put a lot of effort into this thirty minute movie by Aardman Animations.

My favorite scene was when the penguin was controlling Wallace in the Techno Trousers. It was a really exciting scene for me. When the burglar alarm went off it was an even more exciting part. I Thought Wallace was going to get caught. The music really matched the scene, and the expressions on the penguin's face. When he almost dropped the Blue Diamond there was sweat coming down his face. I thought that was really cool. I wish they made the movie The Wrong Trouser longer. I gave it four stars.

Film Review by Willem
Film: Naran

Director: Makota Shiina
Language: Mongolian

There is one word I can use to describe Naran. Beautiful. Naran has become one of my absolute favorite movies of all time! It is very simple, but alot better than any ordinary movie.

It is the story of a young boy called Naran who returns to his home and his horse from boarding school. He has horse races with his brothers, does chores, and has to cope with his spoiled little sister. The family moves on to a new spot and Naran meets a wandering musician who tells him the story of a horse that was incredibly fast that the king took away. That particular sequence was beautifully done!

One day, Naran and two of his brothers go to town to but some very simple things. Naran's parents are unhappy when they learn that he and his brothers have brought home more than was neccesary! Unfortunately, one of Naran's brothers dies. Naran decided he wants to enter a horse race and he does so. The sad thing is that he loses his whip and falls behind the rest. He only comes in about 10th place.

On a scale of one to ten, I would definately give this movie a 10!
