Winners in Young Filmmakers’
Contests Announced at
Freeze Frame International Film Festival
Winnipeg -- Freeze Frame, International Film Festival for Kids of All Ages,
celebrated rising young Canadian filmmakers at the Wee Reels and Reel Views
2008 Video Contest Awards Gala on March 17, 2008.
Now in its ninth year, the youth video competition attracted over one hundred entries in the Wee Reels category (for grades 8 and under) and over 50 in the Reel Views category (for grades 9-12). The two juries, comprised of six industry professionals selected the winning videos from over 50 finalists.
Prizes for the different awards were generously donated by a number of local organizations, including On Screen Manitoba, Radio-Canada, Manitoba Public Insurance, the National Film Board of Canada, Frantic Films, and Manitoba Theatre for Young People.
