Freeze Frame WORKSHOPS

Media Arts Workshops

Who: Students grades 2 to 12
Location: at your school
Dates: throughout the school year

Animation Workshops

Animation workshops focus on the creation of an animated film by going through all the steps required to create an animation movie using plasticine. Students will participate in story development exercises, such as: imagining a story, drawing and creating characters and scenery.

Video Production

This dynamic workshop allows students to experiment with video cameras while promoting technical and organizational skills. Students will learn different camera techniques and simple in-camera special effects from demonstrations and hands-on experience. This allows students to explore and learn the visual language of video and film as well as different camera techniques.

Editing Workshop

This workshop introduces students to the art of editing where much of the magic of filmmaking takes place. Learn from experienced editors on how best to weave images and sound together for the greatest impact. Students will learn technical tricks of the trade and will gain insight into how best to structure their stories.

Acting for the Camera Workshops

This workshop focuses on using acting exercises and games to learn about acting for the camera. Through individual or group exercises, youth can improve their self-esteem and self-confidence.

Filming Your Special Events/Recitals/Theatre:

Freeze Frame can add a new dimension to theses projects by working with your students to film your school’s special presentation(s), recital(s) or theatre show(s).

Film and Theatre:

Live Theatre and Cinema together!
Freeze Frame facilitators (one trained Actor, the other an experienced Director) will work with your students over a one-week period in preparing a short play and teaching them camera/video and lighting/sound techniques.

Half-day Workshops (3 hours)

Full Day Workshops (6 hours)*

*In order to ensure that students gain a deeper understanding of all processes we suggest working over a longer period. Freeze Frame can offer workshops that range in intensity and length:
1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 days, to suit your classroom and/or project needs.
