Freeze Frame International Film Festival for Kids of All Ages celebrates its 20th Anniversary this year from March 6 – 13 with feature length films, documentaries and shorts from ten countries. Three films will shine a light on the refugee experience, including the Festival’s opening night film Bekas, a dramatic account of events from the director’s own childhood in Iraq.
In addition to French and English screenings during the day, Freeze Frame offers hands-on workshops for students of all ages. The mini career fair Reel Jobz returns and Freeze Frame’s digital playground The Media Zone is back. All events take place at the CCFM, 340 Provencher Blvd.
Please book space for screenings and workshops early by calling 204.949.9355.
Two contests are now open. The Youth Video Contest is seeking submissions from aspiring filmmakers in two groups: Grade 8 and under, and Grades 9 through 12. Selected films will be screened in a special program. The Youth Jury Contest invites budding film reviewers aged 9 – 14 to apply to become member of a special Festival jury. For complete details about both contests, including the deadline to enter, visit the Youth Video Contest page or the Youth Jury Page.
