subsidized workshops for rural and Northern schools: How to Make a PSA Workshop

All travel costs are covered by MPI, schools are responsible for the $30/hr instructor fee. This full day workshop will lead a class of students (grades 6 through 12) from pre-production to post-production of a short 30 to 90 second video encouraging motorists to slow down. Students will work in groups to produce several videos in the course of the workshop. A minimum of 5 hours of workshops is required to produce a video.

Schools may then choose to enter the videos produced within the MPI Road Safety Video Challenge workshops in Freeze Frame’s Wee Reel and Reel View contests.


Road Safety Video Challenge
This video competition is back this year with new themes:
  • Wee Reel (pdf)(Grades 8 and under) pedestrian safety OR bicycle safety
  • Reel Views (pdf)(Grades 9-12) Consequences of Impaired Driving OR Views on Aggressive Driving
winning entrants will be awarded a $250 cash prize
